Your wedding deserves two perspectives!

Years ago, I offered the services of a second wedding photographer as an optional upgrade to my traditional photography services. The dilemma I faced however was that because I was so delighted with what I could deliver each time when I used this second photographer, I actually began to feel a little guilty about the weddings where he wasn’t there. My personal philosophy is that every wedding deserves the very best that I am capable of, and the decision to only offer the services of two photographers satisfies this. Here are some of the reasons why Photography by Keel brings two professional photographers to your wedding:

Multiple perspectives: With two photographers, those one-time only, extra special moments of your wedding day may be captured by professionals from two different perspectives. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to see the exchange of your rings from the back of the church, as well as, having another view of the expressions on your faces? How much fun would it be to see you throwing the bouquet and also a close-up of the bridesmaid who catches it? With two photographers, the choice of which of these images best captures these special moments is yours.

Different shooting styles: Photography styles have varied since I started shooting weddings professionally in 1986, and while I have always appreciated photojournalism as an exciting approach to tell the story of your day, I also believe strongly that you deserve very well executed traditional portraiture. When your hair and make-up is perfect and your dress is pressed you deserve to have a beautiful portrait with carefully controlled posing and lighting. It takes years to perfect these techniques and time set aside to execute them well. Having a second photographer allows me to offer this to you without sacrificing capturing the more spontaneous moments too.

Being in two places at one time: In some cases, the schedule of your day may be compressed so that it becomes impossible for one photographer to capture everything. For example, if the bride and groom are in different locations before the wedding, and time doesn’t permit me to travel, Photography by Keel won’t miss a thing because we provide two experienced professionals who will be with you both from start to finish.

Capturing each special moment with minimum interruption: Obviously, no individual can do the job of two. Of the many creative controls available to a photographer (point of view, lens selection, exposure), it’s literally impossible for one photographer to always get the ideal image for every moment of your day. Working with a second photographer however allows me to coordinate these creative decisions so that each of us can shoot spontaneously throughout your wedding day with different creative goals. This strategy will minimize the number of times we have to pose you or ask you to reenact a scene so that we can capture it correctly. Kevin Christenson and I have worked together for 4 years and our workflow is professional, smooth and seemingly effortless, thus reducing any potential stress or interruption during your day.
